Ireland's West Coast (home sweet home)

marc, katie, ryan

Thank yooouuuuu, Ryan Air, yet again! For five pounds we flew for 1 hour and stepped off the plane in Ireland. For (our friend) Ryan it was a magnificent traveling feat of sleep-deprivation: he left Logan, Utah, at –what?-- 9:30 am on Tuesday, got to our house through a series of layovers, bus rides, etc., and promply joined us on a trip to another airport, finally arriving in Ireland at 11:00 pm on Wednesday!

Sarah happened to be staying with us at the same time Ryan visited, so we all went to Ireland together!  this was at a medieval banquet at a castle in Bunratty.

this german family had the method perfected for getting a great shot of the cliffs of moher!

I can’t describe how happy I am in that beautiful Irish landscape and I think I won’t even try. Maybe I should recruit the services of a great Irish poet to help me out.

Postscript

And some time make the time to drive out west
Into County Clare, along the Flaggy Shore,
In September or October, when the wind
And the light are working off each other
So that the ocean on one side is wild
With foam and glitter, and inland among stones
The surface of a slate-grey lake is lit
By the earthed lightning of a flock of swans,
Their feathers roughed and ruffling, white on white,
Their fully grown headstrong-looking heads,
Tucked or cresting or busy underwater.
Useless to think you'll park and capture it
More thoroughly. You are neither here nor there,
A hurry through which known and strange things pass
As big soft buffetings come at the car sideways
And catch the heart off guard and blow it open.

I love reading your posts. You really should write a book about your adventures. You definately have the talent for it.
