Right now my doctoral research involves poring over about 20 MASSIVE volumes of archival records. I'm reading through all the existing archives of every county in England searching for any references to musicians. Yeah, it gets old. 
So to rest my brain from the above rubbish, I read novels at night. Have you read The Pillars of the Earth? Probably. It's been huge forever but I must shamefully admit that I usually shy away from 1,000+ page novels. Such a time commitment! It's an epic story revolving around the building of a Cathedral in 12th century England. Love it!

And how did I not force you to read Pillars of the Earth like, 10 years ago? I love that book.
oh... this is a gorgeous tale! I can't wait to tell my kids. Thanks! Why didn't he eat the dog? I suppose maybe he did... And how did the butler die?
I suspect he did eat the dog eventually! wicked man. They don't really know how the butler died, so I guess you can make up any cool death you want ;)
Yeah Livi and you probably read Pillars of the Earth in like 5 days. It's gonna take me like 5 months!
