Just Like George Washington, We Throw Off the Yoke of British Oppression!

This is us, playing baseball with my brother and his family in Boston Mass.  See that monument rising up behind us?  It marks the location of George Washington's army in their first victory against the British during the Revolution.  That's me, running into the shot after setting the timer.  I am holding the bat but you can't tell.  The bat...with which we will throw off the shackles of British Rule and declare our freedom to live as we please in America the Beautiful!  Okay so we we weren't exactly shackled....and really the British Kingdom treated us very well for the past three years....and we loved it....but still.  We're in America!  The land of root beer and Chewy Chips Ahoy and personal space while waiting in line and customer service and genuine friendliness and milk in gallons and skinny sticks of butter and phrases like "you're all set" and "I need your attention, folks".  And crown this good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!

Sigh. I miss all those things. Except the friendliness. We could do with a tad bit less of that.

phrases like, "I need your attention, folks" repeated endlessly by your 4 year old nephew!
